Tech billionaire and cryptocurrency expert David O. Sacks, chair of U.S. President Trump’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, is calling for American businesses to enter the Hungarian market.
Sack made the comments about Hungary after meeting with Balázs Orbán, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s political director, to discuss technology and innovation cooperation between the two countries.
Sacks posted on X about the “great meeting,” calling on American tech companies to set up shop in Hungary. “More U.S. tech companies should be looking at Hungary as a potential base for their European operations. It is a friendly political environment,” he wrote.
Balázs Orbán, who has no relation to Viktor Orbán, also talked up Sacks in a post.
“For the first time, I had the opportunity to meet in person with David O. Sacks, who is the chairman of the Trump administration’s science and technology advisory board and the U.S. president’s envoy for artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies, the highest-ranking American official in this field,” Orbán posted on Facebook.
Calling Sacks “one of Silicon Valley’s most successful entrepreneurs, a former head of PayPal, and a founder and supporter of many innovative tech companies,” the Hungarian prime minister’s advisor wrote: “We have found that Hungarian-American relations are excellent: We will continue to build on this and work to strengthen innovation and technology cooperation between our two countries!”
On X, Orbán also posted about his “great conversation with ‘AI & Crypto Czar.’”

At a time when U.S.-Hungarian relations are stronger than ever, I look forward to deepening our cooperation in tech & policy.
“Building on this, we will continue to work on strengthening innovation and technological cooperation between the two countries!” he wrote.
