Poland: After Nawrocki’s victory, key politician…

Szymon Hołownia, a member of Poland’s ruling government and the leader of Poland 2050, lists urgent actions that the coalition must take to stop Law and Justice (PiS) and President Karol Nawrocki.

The leader of Poland 2050, when asked how the current situation in the coalition could be described, replied: “Rebuilding, a new beginning, a restart of hope. This is what we have to do today.”

He warned that the coalition is set to lose the Polish electorate by the fall if action is not taken, and it could potentially lead to a collapse of government.

“Because we have to be aware that if we don’t move forward quickly— that is, reconstruct the government, change the coalition agreement, define program priorities with dates for their implementation; and rebuild communication. We can’t just focus on the government spokesman, but the entire new media center that will work with the government and show what is happening with the government, so that people have real information. If we don’t do this, PiS and Nawrocki will give us the ‘autumn of the Middle Ages’ this autumn. There will be cabinet councils every two weeks, vetoing all bills, trying to undermine and overthrow the budget, in order to show that this government delivers absolutely nothing and is good for nothing,” he argued on Polsat News.

Hołownia: We do it, we just don’t communicate it

He stressed that since the coalition partners know what can happen, they should “act radically today and restart hopes.”

“It’s five minutes to midnight, because it’s halfway through the term. There will be no elections for two years. This is exactly the moment, but this is the last moment. If we don’t do it, I would say 3/4 of these things in a month, then we’re done. And we really should do it today. Because our problem is not that we don’t do it,” he said.

According to Hołownia, the mistake is the lack of communication with society.

“We are completely incompetent when it comes to storytelling, communication,” he said.
