Just days after President Donald Trump warned California about letting males compete in girls’ sports, state officials did exactly that.

The state allowed a male athlete, AB Hernandez, to dominate female competitors in two state championship events.

Hernandez, a transgender athlete from Jurupa Valley High School, claimed first place in both the girls’ high jump and triple jump at California’s state finals.

The victories came at the expense of real female competitors, prompting public backlash and fiery protests.

Although the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) tried to quell the outrage by changing rules to allow displaced female athletes to receive adjusted medals, critics slammed the move as a weak attempt to legitimize unfair competition.

During podium ceremonies, girls were forced to stand beside Hernandez, who also took second in another girls’ event.

The move sparked even more outrage from parents and advocates of women’s sports.

The controversy ignited large-scale protests in Clovis, where competing chants, signs.

Even aerial banners reading “No Boys in Girls’ Sports!” dominated the skies.

One protest turned violent when a far-left masked protester assaulted conservative activist Josh Fulfer.

The attack led to an arrest for assault with a deadly weapon.

Video footage shows the LGBTQ protester Ethan Kroll appear to attack Fulfer through a car window.

Kroll was subsequently arrested.

Police records show that Kroll, a male, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, obstructing a public officer, and vandalism.

In a statement, Clovis Police Sgt. Chris Hutchison said no other criminal incidents occurred at or near the track meet Friday night.

“Our stance is always to allow people to exercise their constitutional right to free speech and protest,” Hutchison said.

“They have a right to do it in a manner that isn’t inciting violence or causing other problems. …

“We don’t have room for violence or property damage or anything like that.”

Meanwhile, California Family Council’s Sophia Lorey was escorted out of the stadium for handing out “Save Girls’ Sports” wristbands, despite having done so at previous events without issue.

Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom, already under fire for enabling the competition, has faced renewed criticism.

It comes after Newsom admitted in a podcast that allowing males in female sports is “deeply unfair.”

Yet, his administration took no action to stop Hernandez from competing.

President Trump had threatened to pull federal funding from states that violate his February executive order, “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.”

The Department of Justice and the Department of Education have both opened investigations into California’s actions.

California’s case is part of a growing national trend.

Similar controversies erupted this weekend in Maine, Washington, Oregon, and Minnesota.

Democrat-run states are openly defying Trump’s directive in favor of radical gender ideology.
