President Trump has ordered the release of military materials connected to UFOs

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has said that he will learn alongside the American public whether his department holds records proving the existence of aliens.

Last week, President Donald Trump issued an executive order directing the Pentagon to release “any and all other information connected” with unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) and unidentified flying objects (UFOs). Hegseth told journalists the instruction was not “on my bingo card at all” and cautioned against expecting a swift release.

Asked whether he believes aliens exist, the secretary replied: “We’ll see. I get to do the review and find out along with you.”

Trump’s order followed a podcast in which former President Barack Obama said he believed aliens were real but assured the US government does not hold any in custody.

“There’s no underground facility, unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president of the United States,” Obama said. Trump claimed Obama disclosed classified information before ordering the release to meet “tremendous interest” from the American public.

The American authorities have been collecting reports about UFO/UAP sightings for decades, with the Pentagon currently running an All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office for the purpose. No official confirmation of non-human intelligence was ever issued.

The Trump administration portrays itself as a champion of government transparency, but critics say it has fallen short. Its promise to disclose the Epstein files has been a source of particular contention.

Last week, an armed man was shot dead by security personnel after trespassing at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. He was reportedly a former Trump supporter agitated by what he believed was a cover-up of the Epstein scandal.
