Comedian Kathy Griffin is doubling down on promoting conspiracy theories that President Donald Trump did not win the 2024 election fairly.

Griffin says she doesn’t care who criticizes her for saying so.

“People think I’m tinfoil hat because I don’t think he won in a free and fair election this time,” Griffin said during a recent Substack Live discussion with anti-Trump author E. Jean Carroll.

The full event was posted to Griffin’s YouTube channel on Tuesday.

“No, I’m going to take a hit for that, and I understand, but that’s just my humble opinion,” she added, openly acknowledging the backlash she expects for her remarks.

Griffin’s comments came in response to a question from Carroll about who she believes actually won the election.

The two also exchanged suspicions about Trump’s former advisor, Elon Musk.

Musk led Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) until stepping down in late May.

“I don’t trust the Elon connection,” Griffin said.

“I have my suspicions and yet at the tender age of 64, I never thought I would say something.

“And I know that sounds crazy, but I just had to put that out there because I can’t resist getting in trouble.”

Musk, the billionaire founder of SpaceX and Tesla, had been tasked by Trump with slashing $2 trillion in federal spending.

He announced his departure from DOGE on May 28 and has since expressed concerns over elements of Trump’s second-term agenda.

In particular, Musk has taken issue with the president’s July 4 signature of a sweeping budget and deregulation bill dubbed the “big, beautiful bill.”

Carroll, who has publicly accused Trump of abuse decades ago, told Griffin her views weren’t as fringe as some claim.

“There’s a wave of people who agree with you,” she said.

“That’s why I’m sort of saying it out loud now because look, I’m not a conspiracy theorist,” Carroll added.

“But something about him winning every swing state, all seven … it doesn’t sit right with me.

“But I also don’t know if we’ll really find out anything in my lifetime.”

Griffin previously made similar remarks during a recent discussion with former CNN anchor Don Lemon, saying:

“I do not think Trump won in a free and fair election.

“I believe there was tampering.”

No evidence of widespread election fraud has been presented in any court to date.

The Trump campaign has consistently maintained that the 2024 election was won fairly, citing record turnout and key victories in battleground states like Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.

Independent audits in several states upheld the official counts.

Griffin has been a vocal critic of Trump for years.

In 2017, she sparked widespread condemnation after posing with a fake, bloodied head resembling the president.

She later claimed the image ended her career.

Despite that fallout, Griffin continues to use her platform to weigh in on political matters.
