Hide yo kids, hide yo wife.
This is one of those tech stories that makes me want to nuke the internet. It’s similar to the story of the dad who was totally nonchalant about his 18-year-old daughter having a career working as an OnlyFans harlot.
DecartAI is an AI tech startup and apparently the first company in the world to create an AI model that will ‘transform’ the world in real time, while wearing a virtual reality headset.
You can see how the technology might work in the video below.

"welcome to the Oasis" 🥽
An open-source app that lets you transform your world in real time, just by speaking.
A new way to create, build, and imagine — live.

If you are a normal person like me, who thinks technology and AI has gotten completely out of hand, then of course you are horrified by this development.
The future of video is here. 🔮🎬

We're thrilled to partner with the pioneers at @DecartAI to power their groundbreaking MirageLSD model exclusively on Crusoe Cloud!

Imagine, for a moment, all the sad, lonely young men out there who are going to use this AI tech in hopes of escaping reality.
Now, imagine all of the perverts and creeps in the world who are going to throw on some dorky Metaverse goggles, fire up the DecartXR app, and take a stroll down a busy city street. Yeah, I don’t think I need to go any further than that. If their promotional video is remotely close to how the technology will work with actual humans instead of AI, then we are not headed down a good path.
I’d suspect, though, that the company has trained its AI models not to make a clothed stranger in the real world a bikini-clad one in the virtual. I certainly hope so.
But if it’s any indicator of where AI is going and how it will be used, I am not too optimistic.
