A new study has uncovered a silent health crisis in America as most adults now have hearts biologically older than their actual age, putting them at serious risk for deadly cardiac arrests, heart attacks, strokes, and sudden, premature death.
The study found that Americans’ hearts have begun prematurely aging in recent years.
The alarming findings come from a groundbreaking study led by researchers at Northwestern University, who analyzed the heart health of over 14,000 adults aged 30 to 79.
The results of the study were published in JAMA Cardiology
The study revealed that, on average, women’s hearts are now 4.1 years older than their chronological age, while men’s hearts are a shocking 6.9 years older.
Even more concerning, black Americans face the highest risks.
Black men’s hearts are 8.5 years older than their actual age.
The findings are raising major concerns among cardiologists as years of progress in heart health appear to be unraveling.
Led by cardiologist Dr. Sadiya Khan, the study utilized a novel heart age calculator based on the American Heart Association’s PREVENT equations.
It considers factors like blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, and socioeconomic conditions.
The results were deeply troubling, showing that 16% of women and 26% of men now have hearts at least a decade older than their actual age.
The finding is an indication that they’re on a fast track to cardiovascular disaster. Dr. Khan warns.
“Even though many people in their thirties or forties may feel ‘too young’ to worry about their risk for heart disease, we know that risk can often be silent until it is too late,” Khan said,
The racial disparities have left researchers baffled, however.
Black women have hearts 6.2 years older than their chronological age, while Hispanic women average 4.8 years older.
The numbers are even more severe for men, showing that black men’s hearts are 8.5 years older, Hispanic men’s are 7.9 years older, and white men’s hearts are 6.4 years older.
Yet, despite the differences between races, the findings show that all Americans are suffering from premature cardiac aging.
While the study doesn’t establish causation, it’s impossible to ignore the rapidly declining heart health among the public in recent years.
The researchers suggest that access to healthcare, food deserts, chronic stress, and environmental toxins may be fueling premature heart aging.
Dr. Khan explained, “Having high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol can make someone’s heart age higher than their chronological age.
“But there’s good news, we have treatments that can help reverse it, too.”
Yet, the real tragedy is that many at-risk individuals never receive those treatments.
However, a lack of awareness among the public means millions are unknowingly walking around with ticking time bombs in their chests.
This silent epidemic is leaving millions at risk without the support they need.
Meanwhile, a growing body of evidence continues to expose the links between Covid mRNA “vaccines” and cardiac damage.

The warning was issued by renowned cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough, who highlighted an explosive peer-reviewed study exposing the dangers of the injections.
“The longer the COVID-19 vaccines remain on the global market, the greater the opportunity for publication on side effects,” McCullough noted in a “breaking” report on his Substack.
McCullough was responding to a peer-reviewed study published in the medical journal Vaccines.
The study, led by Florida physician Dr. Lauren T. Forchette, has highlighted an alarming risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD) associated with Covid mRNA injections.
These devastating cardiac events are linked to underlying heart inflammation that often silently emerges following an mRNA shot.
“Forchette et al performed a systematic review focusing on COVID-19 vaccine damage to the heart and lungs and found a stunning 4117 manuscripts,” McCullough explains.
“Primary care and specialty physicians should be very familiar with this new workload of cases, many of whom were victims of the 2021 vaccine rollout.”
