Planned Parenthood’s largest affiliate has begun selling Botox and other beauty treatments at its centers that also kill babies in abortions, saying revenue shortfalls left it short of the money it needs to stay open.
At least four Planned Parenthood Mar Monte locations in California — including sites in Sacramento, Stockton and nearby towns — now sell Botox injections alongside abortion, birth control and dangerous trans hormones. The Mar Monte affiliate of the Planned Parenthood abortion business oversees 30 centers in mid-California and Nevada.
The affiliate said Medicaid reimbursement for its other business does not provide enough money for the organization to remain stable. Congress’s one-year defunding of Planned Parenthood ended in July, but the organization is still blocked from receiving federal money for abortions.
Mar Monte said the beauty treatments align with its mission to contribute to clients’ well-being and that many people sought the services to generally “feel good” about themselves. The same centers continue to kill babies in abortions for profit.
The cosmetics push comes after earlier cutbacks in legitimate health care. Planned Parenthood previously ended primary care and prenatal services and closed five locations because of budget difficulties, according to the California Family Council.
Nationally, Planned Parenthood’s own annual report for its 2024-2025 fiscal year showed it killed a record 434,450 babies in abortions, an 8% increase from 402,230 the year before. That is more than 1,190 babies killed every day. The same report listed a record $832 million in taxpayer funding, up 5% from the prior year. Those figures cover the fiscal year and do not reflect later federal defunding signed by President Donald Trump last year.
Over the past 25 years, Planned Parenthood has killed nearly 8 million babies in abortions while taking more than $12.3 billion in taxpayer funds. In that same period it provided only 331,000 prenatal care services – numbers that are declining today.
Pro-life leaders condemned the latest abortion totals when the report was released.
“Planned Parenthood’s reign of death and destruction increased in 2025,” said Hugh Brown, vice president of American Life League. “And despite its cries that our tax dollars were taken from it, the organization actually received a record amount of government funding last year.”
American Life League President Judie Brown said the organization markets abortion as health care.
“Hidden beneath the glass and the numbers is the actual truth that Planned Parenthood detests families as God designs them,” she said. “It works tirelessly to market evil and promote it under the guise of ‘healthcare.’”
