An artificial intelligence interviewer turned a job screening into a bizarre confrontation after a TikTok user answered its questions in gibberish, prompting the digital avatar to melt down, insult his intelligence, and declare him unqualified.
The viral video, posted by The Dreadful Studio, shows an AI interviewer shifting from a blank smile to an angry expression as the user responds in a made-up language resembling dialogue from “The Sims.”
“I asked why you are qualified for a management position, not for a string of random words,” the AI interviewer told him.
As the exchange continued, the avatar escalated its response.
“This is an absolute waste of my time,” the AI interviewer said.
“I do not know if you’re having a breakdown or if you simply lack the capacity to speak English.”
“This is pathetic,” the avatar added.
Digital Interviewer Swings Between Smiles and Scowls
The avatar’s changing expressions made the exchange even stranger.
While the user spoke, the interviewer appeared to smile and listen attentively.
When he stopped, its expression hardened before it delivered another reprimand.
“Hilarious how everytime he starts speaking she smiles listening intently, as soon as he stops she gets a frown and gets angry, starts speaking back to smiling and listening,” one Reddit commenter observed.
Other viewers compared the avatar’s contorted face to actor Inde Navarrette’s frightening expression in the horror movie “Obsession.”
The screening ended with the AI rejecting the applicant outright.
“I am ending this screening now,” the avatar told him.
“You are completely unqualified. Goodbye,” the AI interviewer added.

Viewers Question Outsourcing Hiring to AI
The clip drew criticism from viewers who questioned the judgment of using an artificial interviewer to assess candidates for a management position.
“I’d have to say that using an AI program do your interviews for a management position is the opposite of leadership, organization, and professional behavior,” one Reddit commenter wrote.
Another Reddit commenter described the practice as “dehumanizing and dystopian.”
The video illustrates a growing frustration surrounding automated recruitment: applicants can find themselves being evaluated by software before getting an opportunity to speak with a person.
AI tools are already operating on both sides of the hiring process.
Applicants use them to generate resumes and cover letters packed with keywords, while recruiters deploy automated systems to sort through the resulting flood of applications.
Qualified candidates can slip through that process unnoticed. AI avatars add another automated barrier between job seekers and employers.
Other AI Interviewers Have Been Easily Fooled
The Dreadful Studio’s video is not the only example of an AI interviewer struggling with an unconventional applicant.
Last month, satirical influencer Graham Zip persuaded another digital interviewer to accept his invented “Chick Bong” identity and a supposed career using Salesforce to manage “Kayak margins.”
That exchange showed an AI recruiter accepting nonsense presented as professional experience.
The latest clip shows one responding to nonsense with personal insults.
The user deliberately derailed the screening with gibberish.
But the avatar’s response exposed its own shortcomings: instead of calmly requesting a usable answer or ending the interview professionally, it speculated about a breakdown, questioned his ability to speak English, and pronounced him completely unqualified.
For employers trusting these systems to represent their companies, the viral exchange puts an uncomfortable question on display: whether the software screening applicants can meet the professional standards it demands from them.
