President Donald Trump’s order to throw open the federal government’s UFO archives has produced another stunning disclosure, including mysterious footage that investigators have been unable to conclusively explain for more than 70 years.

The Pentagon released its sixth batch of declassified files Friday under Trump’s sweeping disclosure push concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), extraterrestrial life, and related government records.

Among the newly released material is remarkable 1952 footage showing numerous brilliant objects maneuvering over Utah.

Despite decades of investigation and competing theories, the government never conclusively determined what the objects were.

Trump Orders UFO Records Released

Trump ordered federal agencies in February to make government records concerning UAPs, extraterrestrial life, and related matters available to the American people.

The Pentagon has subsequently begun publishing records through the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, known as PURSUE.

Officials say additional disclosures will continue on a rolling basis.

The material stretches from the earliest years of the Cold War to encounters captured by sophisticated modern military equipment.

The releases include government reports, witness accounts, photographs, and recordings collected across multiple federal agencies.

They also reveal the explanations government investigators considered for unidentified objects, including balloons, birds, optical phenomena, and technology operated by foreign governments.

But some cases remain unresolved.

Mysterious Objects Filmed over Utah

One of the most striking cases in Friday’s release dates to July 2, 1952.

Delbert C. Newhouse, a Navy warrant officer specializing in photography, captured footage near Tremonton, Utah, after reportedly witnessing between 12 and 14 reflective objects moving through the sky in a loose formation.

Newhouse used a handheld Bell & Howell Auto Master camera loaded with 16mm Kodachrome color film to record the mysterious objects.

An Air Force assessment described Newhouse as an honest and reliable witness with more than 1,000 hours of aerial photography experience.

The Air Force investigated the encounter through Project Blue Book, the government’s Cold War-era program for examining UFO sightings.

Analysts explored several possible explanations.

Among them were birds reflecting sunlight, balloons, and mirage effects.

However, investigators encountered a major obstacle: The film contained insufficient reference points to reliably determine the objects’ size, distance, or speed.

Cold War Experts Couldn’t Agree

Project Blue Book investigators, balloon specialists, and representatives from General Mills reviewed the footage in December 1952.

The group generally concluded that the objects resembled “pillow balloons,” which were used during the Cold War to distribute anti-communist propaganda.

But not everyone was convinced.

One General Mills representative reportedly argued that the objects appeared too bright and were moving too quickly to fit that explanation.

Subsequent reviews suggested another possibility: seabirds reflecting sunlight.

Investigators noted that similar footage could cause birds to appear as brilliant points moving across the sky.

Yet no explanation was ever conclusively established.

More than seven decades later, the footage released under Trump’s disclosure order remains officially surrounded by uncertainty.

Modern Military Encounters Also Revealed

The newly released files are not limited to Cold War mysteries.

They also document far more recent encounters involving modern military surveillance systems.

One report from the Middle East in 2025 describes six small spherical objects displaying remarkable maneuverability.

The objects frequently changed direction and were estimated to be traveling at approximately 480 mph.

Other records include infrared footage captured over the Yellow Sea and East China Sea in 2023.

The release also contains four cellphone videos recorded by Colorado law enforcement officers showing a silent phenomenon displaying flashing red, blue, and green lights.

Sensitive Information Remains Redacted

The Pentagon said portions of the newly released records were redacted to protect witnesses, government facilities, and sensitive military locations.

Officials insist the redactions were not made to conceal information concerning the nature or existence of the encounters themselves.

The collection also reveals the substantial sums the federal government has spent trying to understand the phenomenon.

Among the documents is a 2008 expense report connected to a federal UFO investigation that received nearly $22 million.

The latest disclosures provide no definitive proof of extraterrestrial life.

But they expose another piece of a mystery the U.S. government has quietly investigated for generations, including encounters that officials, scientists, and military experts still cannot conclusively explain.

And under Trump’s order, more files are still coming.
