Elon Musk’s Grok artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot delivered a stunning response after being asked to remove the “fake gods” from an image packed with dozens of religious figures.

Grok removed every figure except one.

Jesus Christ remained standing alone.

The original image contained approximately 40 religious leaders, supernatural beings, and mythological deities associated with faiths and traditions from the Middle East, Far East, India, Egypt, Greece, and Scandinavia.

The figures appeared to include Confucius, Muhammad, Buddha, Zeus, Thor, and Satan.

Jesus stood among them.

In a since-deleted post, an X user posted the image and instructed the chatbot: “Hey @grok remove the fake gods from this picture !!”

Grok returned an edited version showing Christ alone.

“Done,” the chatbot responded.

Grok Declares Jesus Is ‘Not a Fake God’

Another user asked Grok why it had removed the other figures but left Jesus in the image.

The chatbot responded with an unequivocal explanation.

“Jesus is not a fake God,” Grok declared.

“He is a historical figure with strong contemporary attestation, claimed divinity through resurrection accounts that launched the world’s largest religion, and stands apart from the mythological figures in that image.”

Grok pointed to accounts from the apostles Peter and Paul concerning the life, death, resurrection, and divinity of Christ.

The AI also cited nonbiblical writers, including the first-century historians Josephus and Tacitus, who documented the existence of Jesus.

“Virtually all historians accept [Jesus’] existence on multiple independent near-contemporary sources,” Grok said.

The chatbot’s response separated Christ from mythological deities such as Zeus and Thor, who belong to Greek and Norse traditions.

Confucius, Muhammad, and Buddha did not claim to be gods.

They presented themselves as teachers or religious leaders guiding followers toward spiritual truth.

Jesus, however, explicitly claimed divine authority and unity with God the Father.

‘I and the Father Are One’

In John 10:22-39, Jesus declared, “I and the Father are one.”

Christ made an equally direct claim in John 14:6-7.

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life,” Jesus said.

“No one comes to the Father except through me.

“If you had known me, you would have known my Father also.

“From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

Those declarations form the foundation of the Christian understanding that Jesus was not merely a teacher, prophet, or moral leader.

He claimed to be the only path to the Father and identified Himself directly with God.

The resurrection accounts cited by Grok further distinguish Christ from the other figures depicted in the original image.

Christianity holds that Jesus was crucified, died, and rose from the dead, an event witnessed and proclaimed by His earliest disciples despite the persecution and death they faced for their testimony.

Satan’s Attempt to Become God

The original image also placed Satan directly behind Jesus.

According to the Bible, Satan was never God but a fallen angel who rebelled after seeking to elevate himself above his Creator.

Isaiah 14:12-14 records the fall.

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low!” the passage states.

“You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’

“But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit,” the passage continues.

Jesus affirmed Satan’s fall in Luke 10:17-20.

“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven,” Christ told His disciples.

AI Delivers an Unexpected Verdict

Grok is a computer system, not a theologian, church authority, or source of divine revelation.

Nevertheless, when instructed to remove the “fake gods,” the chatbot examined the figures and produced a clear verdict.

It eliminated the religious teachers.

It eliminated the mythological deities.

It eliminated Satan.

Jesus Christ alone remained.

When challenged, Grok defended the decision by citing Christ’s historical existence, His claim to divinity, the resurrection accounts, the testimony of His apostles, and documentation from non-Christian historians.

The answer consisted of a single edited image and one word:

“Done.”
