Three members of an illegal alien gang from Venezuela have been arrested after the horrific and unprovoked murder of a sleeping homeless man in downtown Chicago.
The shocking killing is yet another horrendous crime unfolding under the deep blue city’s “sanctuary” policies.
The fatal assault occurred around 5:45 a.m. Sunday near the entrance of a restaurant in the Loop, Chicago’s central business district.
The victim, 49-year-old Bradley Obeirne, was targeted for the unmotivated attack while he lay sleeping outside with his cat and his belongings.
Police have now arrested three teenage illegal aliens for Obeirne’s murder.
According to prosecutors who reviewed surveillance footage, the group of juveniles approached Obeirne as he slept.
A 14-year-old suspect allegedly snatched a skeleton mask belonging to Obeirne and ran.
16-year-old Wuinayker Rodriguez-Vasquez then allegedly kicked him from behind, as first reported by CWB Chicago.
The rest of the group fled.
However, when the victim tried to stand up to confront them, Rodriguez-Vasquez and another 14-year-old, armed with a metal rod, stayed behind and attacked.
Prosecutors say Rodriguez-Vasquez then pulled a knife from his sleeve and stabbed Obeirne in the back, causing him to collapse to the ground.
The pack of illegals fled, leaving the victim to die alone.
A passerby discovered Obeirne hours later.
He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Chicago police arrested Rodriguez-Vasquez and the two 14-year-olds on Monday.
Rodriguez-Vasquez has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder and mob action.
One of the 14-year-olds has also been charged with first-degree murder in juvenile court, while the second has been charged with robbery.
Prosecutors described the deeply disturbing behavior from the group, stating Rodriguez-Vasquez was seen gloating about the brutal murder shortly after.
He was seen “displaying a knife to the group, making stabbing motions, and wearing the victim’s skeleton mask on his head” while others laughed.
All three suspects are Venezuelan nationals who were in the country illegally, sources reportedly told Fox News.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Rodriguez-Vasquez illegally crossed the Southern Border with his mother in 2023 near Eagle Pass, Texas.
They were then released into the interior of the country by the Biden administration.
The investigation remains ongoing.
